In the narrative of the Bible we see the break in relationships from the beginning in Genesis 3. There is enmity between humanity and Satan, that is there is a spiritual war going on here thus also including the heavenly host and the fallen angels. We also see that their is strife between humanity even in the most intimate relationships, the ones created to be a metaphor of God’s relationship with us.
The event of the crucifixion in Jesus life is pivotal in redeeming relationships. Jesus death on the cross is the redemptive event that all of scripture points to. This single event is what makes salvation possible, atoning for our sins, and redeeming man to intimate relationship with God.
