The event of Jesus suffering in the garden, is significant as it reveals the real burden and suffering Jesus encountered as a divine human. We often just think of Jesus as God, it’s easy to discount the level of pain and anguish He encountered on our behalf. This anguish did not begin when being beaten after His arrest, it was an ongoing burden from birth, and here in the garden we are given a depiction of the deepest anguish and sorrow described in Jesus life.
